A California classic, inspired by our archives and built from cotton corduroy that¡¯s ready for a good time.
Southern California in the 1970s ¡ª home turf of slip-on shoes, tube socks, and weather that was just begging for a skip day. If we did go to school, chances are it would be in a pair like these archive-inspired Corduroy Shorts. Refined enough to pass muster in an open-air classroom but right at home on any board, bike, or beach, these just go to show that there¡¯s never a bad time to be mellow.
The Corduroy Shorts feature military-inspired front patch pockets large enough to carry any phone or wallet in style and a signature flapped back pocket with a button made from real wood. Crafted in California from timeless 14 wale corduroy that¡¯s been pre-washed to ensure softness and fit, they feature a thinner hemline and narrow waistband for a clean look and more formal finish.
About :
In 1961, beach mom Carrie Mann transformed her small Southern California home into a sewing room and store, launching what would become Beach Britches with one simple item: a pair of hand-sewn, double-layer nylon board shorts. It was one of the first California businesses specializing in surf wear, making her living room one of the earliest surf shops. Her first employees were her husband and son, and her first customers were lifeguards in Newport Beach.
In 2014, thousands of britches, waves, and stories later, the s entrusted us with keeping their family tradition alive and kicking. We no longer sell out of Mrs. ¡¯s living room, but our Santa Ana factory is still a place for families to gather. Sons stop in to buy shorts for the fathers who introduced them to the brand. Mothers bring their budding watermen and women to buy their very first pair of ¡°Birdies.¡±
We share the same attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship as Mrs. set forth so long ago. That¡¯s why every pair of our board shorts is still built by hand, the way they always have been ¡ª some by seamstresses that have worked with us for over 40 years. And that¡¯s why we¡¯ll repair any defects at no cost until the fabric won¡¯t hold a stitch.
"Quality is Our Gimmick" is more than our slogan, it¡¯s a commitment we honor with every product we build. Buy less stuff, by buying better stuff.
